Mini-retreat at the SLC Aug. 1
I believe everyone had a fruitful, spiritual time at our mini-retreat Saturday at the Spiritual Life Center. Seven of our brothers and sisters were able to attend. In the morning session we touched upon three non-threatening questions one can ask as a way to evangelize. The questions are:
- Who made you?
- Why are you here?
- Where are you going?
The afternoon session was an introduction to natural law and how it ties to divine law and how it is fundamental to understanding just about everything the church teaches. There was lots of discussion about both topics. In addition, we prayed together at Mass in a standing-room-only chapel. Afterward we enjoyed lunch and fellowship before our second session.
Our next retreat will be sometime around the first weekend in November. The date depends on what other retreats are scheduled there.
Sunday's regular meeting Aug. 2
There was good discussion at our initial and ongoing formation at Sunday's meeting. It is truly a blessing to have so many loving brothers and sisters in our fraternity.
Don't forget your assignments if you signed up to assist at the Midwest Catholic Family Conference Aug. 7-9. Also, please consult your calendar regarding contacting brothers Dick Ruth and Robert Watkins. Of course, you are free and urged to contact them at any time.
