What a grace-filled meeting we had Sunday, Jan. 10! We are so sorry that Brothers Bob Waddill and Steve Bradshaw were under the bone-chilling weather, but know that you were both prayed for – as well as our other brothers and sisters in Christ who are now excused.
We welcomed Alan Seigman and his wife, Julie, who have returned to inquiry, in addition to Adam Nguyen, who is a new inquirer. Jeanmarie Murray rounded out our initial formation group.
The group was happy with our Christmas potluck and was thankful to our Sister Vaughn McCoy for the use of her clubhouse. We also talked about the donation of $1,100 to the St. Jude Lord's Pantry in time for the ministry to provide needed food for the holidays.
A wake service was prayed for our deceased brother, Robert Watkins, in the church, after which the group prayed a Divine Mercy Chaplet.
The other event of note was the beginning of new book for ongoing formation, Prayer for Beginners, by Peter Kreeft. Everyone enjoyed discussing chapter one, some of the fundamentals of prayer. Brother Larry will lead discussion Feb. 7 about chapter 2.
Roe v. Wade anniversary
The faithful are invited to a service on the Jan. 22 anniversary of Roe v. Wade. A rosary will begin at about 5:40 p.m. in the Cathedral. A Mass will be celebrated at 6 o’clock followed by a candlelight prayer service at the abortion clinic located at 5107 E. Kellogg in Wichita.
